In 2012 ACT Europe and Australia, designed, manufactured and patented a complete moulded cable and hydraulic hose protection solution for all types of heavy use machinery, initially for underground continuous miner roof and rib bolting rigs but can also suit energy chain installations.
The Miner Scorpion has been created from the company’s Scorpion Twin and Tri Pull cable and hose handlers.
Use
Miner Scorpion originally designed for drill rig applications, however is now used for a multitude of applications when high wear resistance capabilities, general resilience and reliability are all required.
Design
The design allows machinery to extend and retract without the hazard of snagging the hoses and causing premature failure. Machine operators can access the hoses easily but the system prevents hoses becoming accidentally disengaged.
Easy Access
The Miner Scorpion allows for segregation between electrical and hydraulic cables and hoses if required.
Availability
Miner Scorpion will take hose diameters up to 30mm and a minimum of three hoses and or cables. Should one of those hoses need replacing, it is not a time consuming operation.
Increased Protection
The patented side access system offers enhanced performance while each link keeps the ability to protect the hoses and cables even under the most arduous of conditions. It keeps the hoses contained, controlled and protected while allowing the use of individual hoses within the protection system. The system is designed to allow for wear and impact damage.
